Among the many Kodi addons that disappeared in the recent Kodi addon shakeup, USTVNow is a survivor. This legally-available addon provides live TV to Kodi users, with the option to pay for a subscription to more. The USTVNow Kodi addon offers one of the safest and easiest viewing options for U.S. channels. While the add-on has a significantly expansive library, there are also some noticeable limitations.
Before we get into the details, you’ll want to get USTVNow installed. Our installation guide below will show you how to install the USTVNow addon for Kodi. You can also head over to our longer live TV add-ons guide for more popular add-ons you may want to try out as well.

Before we Proceed
We highly recommend using a VPN when using Kodi. Kodi users have been known to receive copyright infringement notices for streaming movies, sports, and TV shows through various addons. If you would like to keep your streaming habits private, our recommendation is IPVanish - a complete privacy solution for Kodi users.
USTVNow Plus Installation Guide
The process for using USTVNow is slightly different than some other addons. While you can install this addon quite easily, you cannot use it until you’ve created an account on the USTVNow website. That includes for the free channels that are offered by the service.
For USTV Now Plus, begin by signing up for an account.
The account is free, but you will need to do it in order to access the addon’s basic content. Go to their sign up page to create an account. The initial account gives you all access, but will eventually limit you to only 7 channels. The full 29 channel access is available with a subscription fee.
When signing up for an account, make sure to click on the Sign Up With Email option. If you sign up using Google or Facebook, you will not be able to login to the USTVNow Plus service through the Kodi addon. The reason for this is that using the Google or Facebook signup does not create a traditional password. When you go to log in on the USTVNow Plus addon after signing up with Google or Facebook, your password for those accounts won’t work here.
We suggest creating a new email address for this purpose or using an older email address. You can even use a Google email address, so long as you don’t use it through the Google account signup process.
Once your account is created, there are two options for installing the USTV Now Plus Kodi addon: using the SuperRepo repository, or the Kodil (Kodisreal) Kodi repository.
Installation Method 1: SuperRepo
- Click here to access our SuperRepo installation guide
- With SuperRepo installed, go to Addons
- Click on the Package symbol (top left)
- Click on Install from repository
- Find the SuperRepo Repository and select it
- Click on Video Addons
- Scroll down to find USTVNow Plus and select it
- Click on Install
- You will find the USTVNow Plus addon with your Video Addons
Installation Method 2: Kodil (Kodisreal) Repository
- Open a new tab and enter the following link: http://kdil.co/repo/kodil.zip
- Open Kodi to your home screen
- Click on Addons and then select the Package symbol (top left)
- Click on Install from zip
- Locate the kodil.zip file on your computer and click on it to install the Kodisreal Repository
- Return to the screen with Install from zip and then select Install from repository
- Locate the .www.Kodisreal.co.il Repository. Click on it, and then select Video Addons
- Scroll down to find USTVNow Plus. Click on it, then select Install
- You will find your USTVNow addon with the rest of your Video Addons
A Word on Virtual Private Networks
Depending on where you are watching USTVNow, you may or may not need to run through a Virtual Private Network to access the channels. International users may run into geo-restriction issues due to a requirement that users of USTVNow be U.S residents. We suggest using IPVanish to help keep your Kodi experience anonymous and to jump through any web blocking or streaming filters that exist for some ISPs.
USTVNow: Benefits and Limitations
USTVNow is a perfect replacement for those who simply don’t want to go through a traditional cable service. However, this is also where the limitations of this add-on come into focus. To even watch the free channels, you have to make an account. This might be a turn-off for anyone who hates the idea of making an account just to stream television.
Thankfully, making an account is easy, and you can use a throwaway email account to do so. Once you’ve made your account, you will be able to log on to the service through the add-on. If you have not made an account, you can still install the add-on, but you’ll see an error message pop up when you try to start up the Live TV stream.
The next limitation for USTVNow is the pay wall. While there is a free account, you are limited to a very small number network channels.
ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, PBS, and My9 are the only channels available with the free version. You can stream these in HD for the first 45 days. Afterward, they are limited to standard view. Upgrading to a paid account can be somewhat expensive. If you want the full channel line-up (24 channels), you’ll need to set aside $29.99 a month. If you want a DVR option, that will cost $29 a month.
Needless to say, this is a fairly costly option. However, USTVNow Plus not only offers two dozens high-quality channels, but also offers up those channels through a fully legal method. It’s also one of the only paid online streaming services that you can access through Kodi. Despite some arguments that it violates the same laws that the Supreme Court ruled on against Aereo some years back, this is not true. USTVNow has contracts with the major networks, whereas Aereo did not. This is also why it costs so much.
Ultimately, USTVNow is a good option if all you’re looking for are the 7 basic channels that they offer. If you want more, and you’re willing to pay to have it, it’s a good option for you as well. However, if you’re hoping for cost savings, USTVNow is not going to be your go-to option. It has a lot to offer, but for a very high asking price.
