Live TV streaming is, for most Kodi users, the primary reason for using the program. Among the many Live TV streaming options, however, sports rule the day. There are dozens of sports streaming add-ons available on Kodi. Users can cater their interests to suit almost any sport, any country and any time of the year, as long as enough effort is put into sifting through the massive amount of options. In this article, we talk about how to install the ESPN 3 addon for Kodi and get free access to your favourite live sports.
This add-on is exactly what it sounds like. ESPN 3 brings in a wide range of sports streaming options. Given that this is an ESPN-focused streaming add-on, it is of course important to note that streaming of international sports options is limited. However, the add-on provides an impressively wide range of American-based sports, with a smattering of international options.
Thankfully, this add-on is also one of the easiest to install on your Kodi application. We’ll get into more details on the pros and cons of this add-on after the break. First, to install SportsDevil on Kodi, follow these simple instructions. For more sports-related add-ons, also feel free to check out our longer sports add-ons walkthrough.

Before we Proceed
We highly recommend using a VPN when using Kodi. Kodi users have been known to receive copyright infringement notices for streaming movies, sports, and TV shows through various addons. If you would like to keep your streaming habits private, our recommendation is IPVanish - a complete privacy solution for Kodi users.
ESPN 3 Add-On Installation
- Go to the “Videos” tab on your Kodi home screen
- Click on “Add-ons”.
- Click on “Get more”.
- Scroll down until you locate “ESPN 3”. Click on it.
- Click on “Install”.
- Return to the “Videos>Add-ons” screen.
- Your ESPN 3 should be there. If it is not, exit out and attempt to reinstall, in case the installation process failed.
A Note on VPNs and Privacy
If you want to ensure that what you stream through Kodi is kept completely private (from your ISP and otherwise), we recommend using a VPN. If you’re located in a place like the UK, you may actually require one to watch many of the best Kodi streaming add-ons at all. This is because certain websites, like the ones SportsDevil streams from, are blocked on a national level. We suggest IPVanish for your VPN needs. Not only is it one of the best VPN services around, you’ll be hard-pressed to find many Kodi pros who suggest using anything else.
ESPN 3: Benefits and Limitations
Earlier we mentioned that ESPN 3 is very specific to its name. This is undeniably true. ESPN 3 almost unerringly streams content from the named source. Not only that, but it offers a lot of content. The add-on boasts several categories, with over 20 different sports available for streaming on the add-on. This includes the most popular sports, such as baseball, basketball, and American football, as well as more unique, but still enjoyable options like boating, Esports, lacrosse and rodeo.
The application is easy to navigate with no frills involved. The first screen you encounter breaks things down into two big categories: live sports and replays. Here’s where the real limitations begin, however.
The “live” options are very limited. At any one time, you will likely have under 10 different live streaming options, most of which are not streaming live simultaneously, and not broken down by sport. This means that whatever sports are streaming live at the moment, that’s what you’re forced to watch live. This might be perfectly fine for those who prefer to have the decision making left up to others, but if you’re not just a fan of any and all sports, this might leave a bit of a bad taste in your mouth.
The real benefit is in the Replays section. You can replay items from 10 days ago up to 120 days ago. This is also where you can sift through the different sports categories to actually find what you’re looking for. Some of the replays are extremely short, and not entire games or matches. Some are mere highlights, and not actual replays. You will also have to deal with advertisements which cannot be blocked with an ad blocker.
Thankfully, the content and the quality of the content is pretty solid. And because this is ESPN, you will get to enjoy some of the programs unique to ESPN, such as Sports Center.
Overall, ESPN 3 is an excellent source for American sports and some international sports. The quality is exceptional, and the videos work almost all the time. The limitations are minimal overall in comparison to how functional this add-on actually is. Sports fans will want to make this a go-to for sports streaming.
